DOCTORAL SYMPOSIUM

DOCTORAL SYMPOSIUM ON INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES – DSICT 2022

This event brings together PhD students, doctoral candidates and thesis directors to present new discoveries on Information and Communication Technologies through the exhibition, discussion and publication of scientific articles related to the thesis they are working on or directing.

Participants will benefit from the feedback of our international program committee and expand their network considerably. All presenters will receive a certificate of participation as exhibitors at the event and their accepted papers will be published in an exclusive volume of DSICT 2022 that is indexed by Scopus.  

The second edition of the Doctoral Symposium on Information and Communication Technologies – DSICT 2022 will be held from October 12 to 14 in the city of Manta as a parallel activity to the TICEC 2022 conference. See the topics of the symposium. .

SUBMISSION AND REVIEWING PROCESS

All submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by three independent referees from the international scientific program committee. These contributions must be aligned with the topics’ conference.

REVIEWING PROCESS

The review process will be double blind. Therefore, please anonymize your submission. This means that all submissions should not contain information that identifies the author(s) or their organization(s): Do not put the author(s) name(s) or affiliation(s) at the beginning of the article. 

Each article will be reviewed by at least three regular members of the Program Committee or two senior members of the Steering Committee.

  • We receive submissions in PDF format.
  • Please do not enter the name, university, country or any other information related to the authors to comply with the double-blind peer review process. This information must be provided through the EasyChair form.
  • Articles must be thoroughly reviewed and proofread prior to submission.
  • Once you have submitted your article, you may not make any changes during the review process.
  • Articles must be in English and be between 12 and 15 pages in length.
  • The content of the article must be original and related to one of the topics of the symposium.
  • Authors must ensure the accuracy of citations, diagrams, maps and tables.
  • Figures and tables should be placed where they will appear in the text and should be clear and easy to see (high resolution).
  • Papers should follow the format of the downloadable template.

The chairs of the Doctoral Symposium will select the best manuscripts according to the following criteria: 

 

  • Engaging: the presentation format will engage the audience in some way, or has a high potential to attract conference attendees by addressing community needs.
  • Meaningful: the paper raises and discusses issues important to improving the effectiveness and/or sustainability of open education efforts, and its content can be widely disseminated and understood.
  • Quality: claims are supported by sufficient data; claims are based on relevant literature; and limitations are described honestly.
  • Clarity: the intended results of the article are easily understood.
 

Selected papers from the Doctoral Symposium will be published in an exclusive CCIS volume by Springer and indexed in Scopus.

  • All papers submitted to DSICT 2022 will be checked for plagiarism, including self-plagiarism.
  • If the paper is accepted, it is not possible to add more authors than those listed on the submission form in EasyChair.
  • If your paper is accepted, you will have to improve it following the reviewers’ recommendations.
  • One author per registration may attend.
  • One paper may be submitted and published per registration.
  • Registrations cannot be cancelled or refunded.
  • Registrations are non-transferable.
DSICT 2022 proceedings will be published in the Springer series Communications in Computer and Information Science CCIS, to be indexed in DBLP, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews, SCImago, Scopus. CCIS volumes are also submitted for the inclusion in ISI Proceedings.
